Blog 3 In the Igbo tribe at the weddings they cook their own food. They sit around a big table and act like a big family. They have a feast of a lot of food. The female doesn't walk down the aisle and she also doesn't where a big white dress or any type of dress at all. At our weddings there is already food made.We walk down an aisle and our fathers or mothers give us away to the male. The women where big white pretty dresses. We also have a wedding cake. Sometimes the cake is huge.
Blog 2 Igbo people define masculinity as being a strong, not being weak or showing emotions. I Think it is stupid because everyone has emotions, maybe not as much as others but we all have them. it dont make you less of a man or women because you express yourself. We define masculinity by what we do in our lives or what we are able to accomplish. When i read that the igbo tribe considers that women are weaker than just because of the sex makes me kinda mad, just because we are girly and have long hair, get our nails done and stuff doesn't mean we should be defined as "weak". We are the ones who mad you in the first place and without us, "man" would not be here.
Blog 1 My First impression on the novel things fall apart was it was boarding and i just knew i was going to like it. i thought it was all about nothing and i would have no desire to read it. I really cant say nothing about the Igbo culture because i don't study and i am not trying to learn it. Igbo tribe does not treat the women the same as men, and i don't like that. And i would like to know how you determine a man's wealth by how many wife's he has. One way you can tell there culture is different from ours is because they determine your wealth on the wives you have and another way is they beat their wives and yell at there kids. we don't do that. One way it is kinda the same is because i think men get more respect then women do in our culture too.
